Sultan Hasan Mosque III

One of the four teaching halls bordering the courtyard of the mosque. Here, many years ago one could attend lessons in any of the four major schools of jurisprudence then practiced in the Sunni Muslim world: Hanafi, Shafii, Maliki, or Hanbali (I don't know which was taught in this particular hall). Each had their own methodology for arriving at the truth but because of their sincerity and consistency in applying that methodology, each accorded the others' rulings validity.
